Anime Room Decor Ideas That Showcase Your Collection

If you’re anything like the people who walk into our shops, you’ve probably got a growing pile of figures, swords, and random merch that deserves better than a dusty shelf or leaning on the wall in the closet.
You’ve spent real money and real time building your collection. It should actually look like something when people walk into that room.
Here’s what I’ve seen work for me in years of setting up and displaying anime and cosplay merch for our stores.
Give Your Swords a Real Home
Nothing turns a regular bedroom into an anime room faster than a properly displayed blade. Wall mounts or a simple plaque make the difference between “I own this” and “this is part of the space.”
A few that keep disappearing from our displays:
- The Dragon Slayer is pure Berserk energy. Massive, heavy-looking, and it commands whatever wall you put it on. These are so heavy that I usually score U Brackets from Home Depot or Amazon and then mount them horizontally. (Be sure to hit the studs!)
- Buster Sword with Gems hits that Final Fantasy VII sweet spot. People stop and stare.I have the same advice for this one, although the Buster sword has two holes in the center and I’ve had good success on putting a strong lag into the wall stud and hanging the sword vertically from it. Use electrical tape around the lag to protect the finish on the sword.
- For the Solo Leveling crowd, the Kamishi’s Wrath looks sharp without taking over the entire wall. A nice floating shelf works great.
- Elden Ring fans usually grab either the Rivers of Blood or the Moonveil. Both sit well next to each other on a 2 sword stand/wall rack that we sell.
- The Saw Cleaver from Bloodborne is for the people who want something a little darker and more mechanical. Not going to lie, I don’t know how to display this well yet, but it just super cool. So if you figure out something, post it to our socials!
We’ve also got foam versions if you’ve got younger siblings or roommates who like to “borrow” things. Same look, less stress and judgmental looks.
Layer in Statues and Smaller Pieces
Swords handle the big statement. Smaller statues and figures fill the gaps and make the room feel lived-in instead of fake or staged.
The fairy-and-dragon pieces work well and some of the skulls work surprisingly well mixed in with actual anime figures. They add that slightly off-kilter fantasy vibe a lot of series lean into. Pair them with a few larger crystals or stones on the same shelf and the whole display starts feeling intentional.
Lighting Changes Everything
Harsh cool overhead lights kill the mood. Soft, orange and yellow lighting makes even a modest collection look richer and warm.
The Moroccan lanterns we carry (especially the teal, emerald, and midnight blue ones) throw interesting patterns on the walls when you put small bulbs inside. A lot of cosplayers use them for photos because the light feels warm without looking cheap. Hang one or two near your main display and suddenly the whole corner feels like a set. Symmetry helps a lot!
Still bear in mind that you need some strong lighting to shine from below or spotlight from above. The lanterns themselves add depth but LED strips or spotlights illuminate the products.
Don’t Forget the Small Details
A good crystal cluster or a couple of chakra stones on a windowsill or desk pulls the mystical side of a lot of anime into the real room. Same with a leather journal or feather pen set if you’re the type who still writes notes or sketches.
The goal isn’t to fill every inch. It’s to make the pieces you already love feel like they belong there instead of just being in the space. Leaving negative space is important, without it, products look crowded.
I’ve watched customers walk out with one sword and come back three months later with a full wall planned out. That’s the fun part. Your collection is already cool. The décor just lets it breathe.
